How It All Started
Origins Family Foods was born from something every immigrant knows: the longing for the flavors of home. That Sunday afternoon jollof rice. For too long, finding authentic African and Caribbean ingredients in America meant driving hours to specialty shops, settling for whatever was available, or asking family members to pack extra suitcases when traveling home. We knew there had to be a better way.
So we built Origins — an online grocery store dedicated to bringing the authentic flavors of Africa and the Caribbean directly to your kitchen, wherever you are in the United States. When I moved to the United States, the hardest part wasn't the weather or the culture shock — it was not being able to find the ingredients I grew up with.
I started Origins Family Foods because I believe no one should have to choose between convenience and authenticity.
