For jollof rice: Rinse rice well. Prepare your jollof tomato base, add rice and stock, cover tightly and cook on low heat for 30-40 minutes. For fried rice: Parboil rice until 80% cooked, drain, then stir-fry with vegetables, soy sauce, and seasoning. For plain rice: Rinse and cook in a 1:1.5 ratio of rice to water.
