Ndole is the pride of Cameroonian cuisine — a rich, complex dish of bitter leaves cooked with groundnuts, prawns, and cured meats. These sweet bitter leaves are specially selected for Ndole preparation, with a milder bitterness than regular bitter leaves. Ndole is Cameroon's most celebrated national dish, served at weddings, funerals, and every important gathering.
100% frozen sweet bitter leaves (Vernonia spp.)
Thaw and wash thoroughly to remove excess bitterness. For authentic Ndole: cook leaves with ground peanuts, crayfish, prawns, and smoked fish in palm oil. Can also be prepared simply sautéed with onions and seasoning. Serve with plantains, miondo (bobolo), or rice.
