Miondo is the slender, tangy cousin of bobolo, made from fermented cassava and wrapped tightly in banana leaves. Popular across Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, and Gabon, miondo has a slightly more sour flavour and firmer texture than bobolo. It's the classic accompaniment to grilled fish and spicy pepper sauces in Douala and Yaoundé street food stalls.

Steam or boil for 10-15 minutes to warm through (pre-cooked). Unwrap from banana leaves before serving. Serve with grilled or fried fish, Ndole, pepper sauce, or sautéed vegetables. Slice into rounds for a neat presentation or pull apart by hand for casual dining.
